When a child first opens his eyes

When a child first opens his eyes,
He opens them to a proceeding life,

“Where on Earth have I arrived?”
Thinks the little pal surprised,

Such a kingdom of glamour and gay,
For him it seems a gloomy day,

He stares at all the faces around,
Happy and delighted, they all sound,

Among all the faces, there are two,
Whose eyes are sparkling, whose happiness true,

“Oh! Are these the treasures x,I was told I would find,
Are these my parents ?” thinks the little mind,

He stresses upon his mind and tries to recall,
The features which are in parents all,

He looks into their eyes which sparkle with gay,
May you live long and be happy they xsay

He reads their mind trying to find,
All the thoughts concealed behind,

A message of love , a promise to be kind,
His love was all that had filled up their minds,

Yes these are the treasures which I xwas promised to be blessed,
Yes these are the gifts which can no way be less,

Than any gift that could be gifted ,
Than any treasure that could be granted!!
