KARACHI: Famous actor of Pakistani film industry Syed Kamal passed away after lingering illness in Karachi Thursday.
According to Geo News, he was admitted to a hospital previous day due to cardiac problem.
Kamal – known as ‘Pakistani Raj Kapoor”- starred in many super hits of 60s including ‘Tuba’, ‘Road to Swat’, ‘Insan aur Gadha’, ‘Behin Bhai’ and ‘Ashyana’.
In the end of his career in the industry he made ‘Siyasat’.
After a long period of absence he returned to the industry by directing ‘Chaloo Ishq Laraien’, which proved his last effort.
He also participated in the practical politics and fought election from Karachi however in vain.
He also worked in many TV serials.
Including a widow he left one son and three daughters behind.
Meanwhile Governor Sindh Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad expressed heartfelt condolence over his death.
