- Practice yoga. Though I’ve been into yoga for a long time. Today I swear by Randev Maharaj’s asanas and breathing exercises. Asanas help maintain the flexibility of the body. Since most of us constantly sit on chairs, our leg joints get stiff. Sitting in padmasan is a must to keep the hip and knee joints supple and to stretch the muscles of the lower abdomen.
- Exercise on a regular basis. You don’t need to go to the gym, even brisk walks help burn calories.
- Eat in moderation. Never stuff yourself. If you do, the kilos will pile on and the first place this shows is on the face.
- I’m a vegtarian and stick to satvik food. Avoid ghee, butter and excessive use of masalas. Whenever possible use monosaturated fats like olive oil for salads. In fact, I prefer to eat even our regular Indian dishes cooked in olive oil. I also take care to steer clear of rice and indulge myself only once a week.
- For glowing skin, it’s essential to have a healthy body. Creams and lotions can help only to enhance your complexion, the real beauty has to radiate from within.
- Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water to cleanse the body of toxins. Don’t cheat by including hot or cold drinks that you may consume during the day.
- A ravishing mane is a must. Preferably oil your hair with herbal oils twice a week and wash if off the next morning with herbal shampoos. If you suffer from hairfall, 3 spoons of aloe vera juice and 3 spoons of amla juice taken daily can do the trick.
- Good sound sleep is essential for the body to rest and recover its strength after a grueling day.
- Keep yourself occupied.Make sure you have something to do and to look forward to constantly. An idle mind invites lethargy, which will only make you neglect yourself.
- Pay attention to your emotional well-being. Think positive and above all, love yourself. Even better, fall in love. It will make you glow.
