Mom of the Year

Lindsay Lohan's mom, Dina Lohan, is being honoured as mom of the year. Yes, you read that right. Dina, who fancies herself "the white Oprah" has been named one of the "Top 20 Long Island Mothers of Celebrities" by Mingling Moms, a Long Island-area organisation. Other moms being honoured include Jennifer Lopez, Carol Baldwin (mom to the Baldwin brothers) and former "Karate Kid" Ralph Macchio's mom, Rosalie. The source said that Dina is taking her award quite seriously. "With her reality show, this couldn't be better timing, especially from a publicity standpoint," said the source.

Going to the Altar

Jessica Simpson looked like she was having a ball with ZZ Top band members Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill gearing up to perform at Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base in California recently. She mesmerised all when she performed "These Boots Are Made For Walkin'. While the spotlight often seems to be focused on the older Simpson sister, Jess couldn't help spilling one little secret about Ashlee's wedding - unsurprisingly, Jess will serve as the maid of honour for the ceremony.

George Clooney Devastated

George Clooney was hurt by the failure of his most recent movie Leatherheads - but is determined to learn from the experience.

A month after its release, the American football movie only reached third place in the U.S. box office and disappointed critics - leaving director and star Clooney devastated.

He told the media, "It bombed and when I say bombed, it means bombed. Someone said, 'How does that feel?' and it stings a little bit. It's not like we just showed up: I was working on this for a couple years and put a lot of work into it, and you get knocked back a little bit."

But he refuses to be beaten, insisting, "The trick is how you handle things when things don't go great. It's easy when things are doing well. The people I most admire are the people who handle it when the studio says that's really underperformed and they say, 'Ow, that hurt.' I've been a fan of watching people go through cycles, not just winning cycles."

Seven Things You Never Knew About Cameron Diaz

1.Cameron would love to switch lives with comedian Jack Black - at least for a while. She says: "I think of who I would want to be, and then Jack's there in a blue leotard and a moustache and I'm like, 'What would it be like to be that guy?' I don't know... I'd like to know."
2.Cameron admits that her male co-stars have a tendency to get all hot under the collar when she's around. She reveals: "A lot of the actors I've worked with get... like a crush on me. They want to get romantic." She includes Mask co-star Jim Carrey, whose invitation for a date she politely declined, in that number. Although he remained civil, the warmth was gone from their relationship and she hasn't heard a word from him since.
3.Cameron really - really - hates the musical stylings of Mariah Carey. She says: "If you really want to torture me, sit me in a room strapped to a chair and put [her records] on."

4.On the other hand, she has a bit of a soft spot for Harrison Ford, whom she describes as her "ideal man for masculinity".

5.Cameron refuses to consider plastic surgery. In fact, she says: "If anyone invents a ray gun which, when used, undoes every face job in Beverly Hills, I want to be around when whoever it is pulls the trigger."
6.Cameron says she never exercised at all - not even for a day - before embarking on her grueling fitness regime for Charlie's Angels.
7.While Cameron has no qualms about adding a bit of muscle, it's not something she would do for a part. Talking about 2005 drama In Her Shoes, she explains: "Toni [Collette] was fantastic, and so dedicated. She agreed to gain weight for the role. Which, well... I wouldn't gain weight for a role - that's not part of my job requirement!"

Too Clinsy?

Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer kicked off their weekend with some poolside activity in Miami. And although many are happy that Aniston might have found love again, some wonder if she isn't a bit too clingy, too soon. According to some onlookers at the beach, Mayer often looked bored and disinterested. That didn't stop the couple from arriving together to the "Marley & Me" wrap party at Nikki Coconut Grove later. Aniston leapt onstage and sang along to Pat Benatar's "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" and showed off her younger date (Aniston is 39, Mayer is 30). "They were inseparable the entire night, holding hands and being extremely cuddly," says an eyewitness.

Truth or Lies?
Lindsay Lohan's enemies are coming out of hiding in the wake of her fur-coat controversy - and now a model is rehashing her claims that Lohan stole her clothing as well. The same week a Columbia University student insisted Lohan swiped her $11,000 blond mink coat in New York City earlier this year, model Lauren Hastings says on the buzznet.com Web site that Lindsay lifted thousands of dollars worth of items from her closet.
"Basically, I have two closets, a lot of the stuff was missing out of one and the next closet was almost completely empty," Hastings says on a video featured on the buzznet site, claiming her things disappeared during an unauthorised late-night party tossed by her housesitter.
Citing five witnesses, Hastings, 23, also alleges, "They all said they saw Lindsay Lohan basically in my closet, handing a bag of clothes to her bodyguard."
In an email to the media, Lohan's rep responds: "This is all not true. It's not what it seems."
Police reportedly searched for the missing items, but they were not recovered.
