Pakistan beaten by Poland in WC Hockey QR

LILLE: Pakistan after recording four consecutive victories in the World Cup Qualifying Round were beaten by Poland in their last pool match here on Saturday.

Poland despite going into a deficit of two goals came from behind to defeat Pakistan 3-2.

Pakistan succeeded in taking lead in only the third minute of the match when Mohammad Waqas scored goal and maintained the lead throughout the first half.

Later, Mohammad Zubair extended the Pakistan lead to 2-0 in the eighth minute of the second half.

However, Pakistan were off-coloured as the Polish team replied with full force and scored three consecutive goals to snatch the lead which continued till the final moment.

However, this defeat did not make any difference to Pakistan as they have already qualified to play the final.
