National Games to be held in Peshawar from March 25: Aqil Shah

PESHAWAR: The 31st National Games will be held from March 25 in Peshawar.

Provincial minister for sports, NWFP, Syed Aqil Shah told here at a press conference that the 31st National Games wouldl be held in Peshawar from March 25 to 31.

He told that the dates of the games have been finalized unanimously at the meeting of the Pakistan Olympic Association.

Syed Aqil Shah said that the prime minister would be the chief guest at the inaugural ceremony of the National Games while the president would be the chief guest at the concluding ceremony.

Replying to a question, he said that that the minister for sports Punjab has no right to stop the players of his province from participating in the National Games.

Aqil Shah said that special security arrangements would be made for the players on the eve of the National Games.

He said that no suicide attack would be made in Peshawar in future because the training camps of the suicide attackers have been abolished in Beochar and South Waziristan.
