Amir Khan knocks out US opponent in 76 seconds
NEW CASTLE: Pakistan-origin British boxer Amir Khan defended his WBA Light Welterweight title with a stunning 76-second defeat over Ukrainian Dmitriy Salita in first round here on Saturday.
The WBA light-welterweight champion successfully defended his title for the first time and restricted his opponent to first round as Dmitriy Salita could not dominate him on any stage.
The 22-year-old is currently based in Los Angeles since teaming up with trainer Freddie Roach last year. He has so far won 22 professional fights out of 23. His victories included 16 knock-outs.
