Pakistan beat Canada in Champs Challenge opener

SALTA: Pakistan hockey team beat Canada by 2-1 in the opening match of Champions Challenge Hockey Cup here on Sunday, Geo news reported.

Pakistan took the remarkable start of the tournament being played in Salta city of Canada as the national team secured 2 goals lead in the first half of the match while the opponents showed a better play in second half, reducing the lead by 1 one goal besides preventing Pakistan to score another one.

But however, the one goal lead proved decisive, letting Pakistan team win match by 2-1 goals.

Pakistan will play second of its series match against Argentine on Tuesday, sources said.
