I missed the Days

I take my pen in hand today,
To drop you just a line
To ask you how the weather is
And are you feeling fine
And did you ever wed the one
You always dreamed you’d find?
And are there any feelings now
And have the years been kind?
And do you ever think of me?
The friend you used to know
And all the happy times we shared

A few years ago
So many people have I met
Some rich and clever too
But I have never found a friend
I liked as much as you
You had the gift of laughter true
You had a love for fun,
You turned the rain clouds upside down
You always found the sun!
And I have learned throughout the years
How few they really are
Who turned their troubles upside down
And hang them on a star!
