Karachi: Former Pakistan Cricket captain and
legend Hanif Mohammad has termed Sachin
Tendulker as the " cricketing jewel of
subcontinent" and said the 36 years right
-hander was destined to break many more
records in the coming years.
Hanif said he ranked India's Lala Amarnath
and Sachin Tendulker, West Indies Sir Garry
Sobers and Brian Lara as some the the best
players of the last centuary.
His (Tendulker) passion and hunger for the
game is amazing. I still make it a point to
sit down to watch him bat.
The former wicket-keeper batsman also said,
playing against India was always the best
moments of my career and some of my best
innings came against them.
Hanif who played 55 Tests and 238 first
class matches in his shining career where
he earned title of "little master" for the
longest innings in test history- his 970 minutes
337 runs against West Indies in Bridgetown
in 1957-58 said to be part of Pak.'s cricketing
history.
"It has been a wonderful career and great life.
I am thankful to Almighty Allah for celebrating
my 75th birth day," said Hanif Mohd.
