3 Idiots.. Don’t get the wrong idea from the film title. This is not an idiotic movie and is, in fact, one of the best from Bollywood in 2009. It will make you laugh, it will make you think. Infact in some scenes, you may even feel like shedding a tear. Bollywood Actor Aamir Khan proves yet again why he is such a prized possession in Bollywood Industry. The ‘Mr. Perfectionist’ always famous around the world for putting in a lot into his movies and that’s why his movies i.e., Lagaan, Fanaa, Taare Zameen Par, Ghajini, Dil Chahta Hai and Rang De Basanti have been praised and did well at the bollwyood box-office.
Boman Irani is impressive with his act of lisp, style of dressing and mannerisms, somehow reminiscent of his similar role in the movie Munnabhai M.B.B.S co-starring Sanjay Dutt, but he is thoroughly enjoyable to watch.
There are many scenes in the movie which will have the audience rolling out with laughter, especially where an engineering student gets his words mixed up while giving a addressing everyone. There are some social message that the movie had tried to explain i.e., the futility of suicide, the increasing cost of living and the mindless cramming to pass exams.
The song tracks are composed by Shantanu Moitra and are a good listen while this entertaining movie has been imaginatively filmed by Muraleedharan C.K.
Bollywood Diva Kareena Kapoor doesn’t have much screen time but was successfull in making her presence felt. Her lip-lock with Aamir Khan during the climax moment of the movie has been snipped.
Overall, This is a feel-good bollywood movie which you may wish for watching it a second time. In the movie Munnabhai, the director had propagated the “hugging” (popularly named as Jaadu ki Jhappi) philosophy for emotional wellbeing. Over Here, the magical “mantra” is “All is well” even when something goes wrong.
