Tauqir backs Shahid Afridi to lead Pakistan
LAHORE: Former Chairman Pakistan Cricket Board Lt. General (r) Tauqir Zia has said that the Senate Sports Committee should not have made the issue of match-fixing public if it was not to name the players involved.
Former skipper Aamir Suhail said Senators did not clarify the situation so he won’t comment.
Speaking to reporters following his announcement to contest election of Lahore City Cricket Association, Zia said that the decision was taken to take the Lahore Cricket to right direction.
He backed star all-rounder Shahid Afridi as the best available choice to lead the national team.
While Suhail said that four to five names were under consideration for the job, but whoever becomes captain should be powerful.
