SAN FRANCISCO For the third game in a row, Jose Reyes was held out of the Mets lineup. His right oblique discomfort lingered before Friday nights contest here at AT&T Park.
Heres what is different now: Reyes will not start, even though left-hander Barry Zito is pitching for the Giants. Reyes would not have to use his left-handed swing, which has been ineffective because of the injury.
But still, manager Jerry Manuel indicated yesterday that Reyes would not return to the lineup until he was free of all discomfort and cleared by the medical staff. That, it would appear, has yet to occur.
So, with lefties Jonathon Niese (6-3, 3.61 ERA) and Zito (7-4, 3.76) facing each other, here is the lineup for the late night game here on the West Coast:

1. Ruben Tejada, SS

3. David Wright, 3B
4. Carlos Beltran, CF
5. Jeff Francoeur, RF
6. Ike Davis, 1B
7. Rod Barajas, C
8. Alex Cora, 2B
