    Khud ko phir aaj hum aazmaanay chalay

    kar gayii ham ko diiwaana fan ki lagan
    uqta kay dost bhii sabh puraanae chale

    dard pii kar chale ham to kuu-ye-ghazal
    phir se haiN/[ham] rasm-e-ulfat nibhaane chale

    baaqii ummeed kii lau nahiiN bin teray
    zindagi "saagar" ab kis bahaane chale
