Ibn �Abbaas (Radhi Allaho anho) said:
The Messenger of Allaah
(peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him)
enjoined zakaat al-fitr
as a purification
for those who fasted from idle
or obscene talk,
and so as to feed the poor.
