    Hum se shab e firaq k naalay nahin gaye
    un se hamray dard sam-bha-lay nahin gaye

    karty rahay tamam umr tera zikr hum
    tan-ha-i main bhi teray hawalay nahin gaye

    ab bhi dekh le k nahin waqt hai gaya
    hum laut aain gay tu bulalay nahin gaye

    yun to safr e ziest bhi tareek hi raha
    hamrah teri yaad k ujalay nahin gaye

    ye rakht e safr bandha hai phr se kyun
    abhi tumhray paon k chalay nahin gaye
