Skyfire Browser For iPad Launched



The inability to run Flash content on iOS devices such as iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch has been a source of discontent amongst users since a long time. Earlier this year, the Skyfire Browser for iPhone and iPod Touch was announced, which allowed to run Flash content on their iPhone or iPod Touch in a unique, non-hacked fashion. The Skyfire browsers use their own servers to convert Flash content to HTML5 and then serve it to users, and since HTML5 content is natively supported by the Safari browser, there was no violation of terms of service of the App Store, and no need to jailbreak your iPhone/iPod Touch.

While Skyfire was initially pulled from the App Store (albiet temporarily) due to high demand and the subsequent pressure exerted on Skyfire’s servers, it was later put up back again in small batches to give Skyfire time to cope up with the heavy demand. The fact that the demand was so huge, is what led to this recent development.

While initially Skyfire was released only for the iPhone and iPod Touch, it is now available for the iPad as well. Engadget has posted a full hands-on review of the browser running on the iPad. Check out the video.
