I am happy at City - Balotelli
Mario Balotelli insists he is happy at Manchester City and has warned Premier League defences that he is still some way from reaching his best form.
City boss Roberto Mancini said on Tuesday that the 20-year-old was suffering from homesickness - although he felt the problem was not a long-term issue.
Since his arrival at Eastlands in the summer, Balotelli has failed to consistently perform at his best, with some questioning his desire, but the Italy international has revealed he won't be changing his on-pitch persona and that he is content in the north-west.
"I am always happy, even when I don't smile. I feel a striker has to score. It is my job. That is why I don't smile. I am still happy and I can score more goals," he said.
Balotelli showcased his talents with a stunning hat-trick as City thumped Aston Villa 4-0 on Tuesday, taking Roberto Mancini's side to the summit of the Premier League - until neighbours Manchester United reclaimed top spot with a draw at Birmingham.
Despite losing four times in the league, City have not fallen away as some had predicted they might and Balotelli says the squad is focused on only one thing.
"We can win this Championship," he told the Sun. "In the new year we can be better."
