US triplets, 7, win national chess title
Sometimes, Katerina Varsou needs to work or needs a break from playing with her sons, Andreas, Nicholas and Constantine Oskiper, 7-year-old fraternal triplets. So she tells them to amuse themselves. Usually, they play chess.
This month, the Oskipers, who live in East Windsor, New Jersey, took their passion for the game to a new level by teaming up to win the first-grade section of National Scholastic K-12 Chess Championship in Florida. Officials of the US Chess Federation, governing body of the game, said it was the first time that triplets had won a national scholastic team championship.
