    Tuffey replaces injured Bennett
Hamish Bennett, the New Zealand fast bowler, has been ruled out of the World Cup due to an injury to his ankle and Achilles tendon. Seamer Daryl Tuffey, who had been called up as a standby for an injured Kyle Mills, will take Bennett's place in the XV.

Bennett injured himself during New Zealand's previous game against Sri Lanka in Mumbai after bowling just 4.1 overs, and limped off the field. He played four games this tournament, picking up six wickets including a four-for in his team's opening game against Kenya.

New Zealand have been plagued by injuries in this World Cup with Mills suffering from a quad strain after bowling a couple of overs against Canada, and captain Daniel Vettori hurting his knee while attempting a catch in the game against Pakistan. Both missed the clash against Sri Lanka in Mumbai, where New Zealand were comprehensively beaten.

Tuffey, who had arrived in India on Friday, had been playing for Auckland in the Plunket Shield, New Zealand's domestic first-class competition. He's played 94 ODIs, claiming 110 wickets at 32.12.

    England hunt knockout consistency
Having had their World Cup quarter-final spot confirmed by South Africa's victory over Bangladesh on Saturday, England spent the second half of their weekend at a holding camp in Delhi waiting to see where they would begin their knockout campaign and the identity of the opposition. However, having lived on the edge throughout their campaign, they aren't really bothered about the finer points.

There are two worthwhile comparisons to make surrounding England's current position. The first is last year's World Twenty20 when they scrapped out of the group stage after a washout against Ireland, before embarking on five consecutive victories to claim the title in Barbados. Then, going back more than a decade, there are similarities with Australia's position at the 1999 World Cup.

After defeat against Pakistan, at Headingley, they had to win every match to take the title and it was a mission they achieved. As one-day international teams go, this current England unit doesn't match up against that Australia side, but it's a valuable lesson in building tournament-winning momentum. One point, though, is undeniable. England are going to have to play much more consistently than over the last month

"It's been pretty incredible, tiring and a little bit frustrating that we haven't quite put it all together," Ian Bell said. "We've played six games here and still haven't got it all right at the same time. If we win all three matches, we'll be able to look back on one of the best [northern hemisphere] winters of all time. Three games, and we can win a World Cup."

Bell believes the fact that the tournament now switches to knockout cricket will suit England, who began their elimination matches earlier than some with the must-win meeting against West Indies. After England's defeats to Ireland and Bangladesh, talk of tiredness after a hectic six months has been common, but Bell insists there is plenty left in the tank.

"We saw that in the last game against the West Indies, that even after a long winter the guys are desperate to keep progressing in this tournament. The belief has always been there, and still is, that we can beat anyone on our day.

"In the last 12-18 months, when we've had matches we've got to win, we've come out well. It's very clear to us what we have to do, and I'm sure there are a lot of teams around that don't really want to play England - because they don't quite know what they're going to get at the minute."

One of the key areas England need to improve is the opening partner for Andrew Strauss. Since Kevin Pietersen was forced home with his hernia, Matt Prior has returned to the role but managed uncertain scores of 15 and 21 in his two innings. The management will be reluctant to make another change, but Bell is a tempting option to partner the consistent Strauss in the quarter-final.

"I'd be as keen as anything to do it," Bell said. "If I had to stay at four and keep to my role for the team, I'm happy to do that as well. It's something I've been asked to do in this World Cup. One of my strengths is going out there and playing spin, so I feel very confident and comfortable batting in that position.

"But one of my strengths is in being quite flexible. I haven't really had one position with England in one-day cricket; I've been up and down the order. I'd like to be able to nail one place and stay there for a while. But if I have to move up and down, I'm willing to do that as well."

To walk or not to walk?
Should batsmen walk when they know they're out? This World Cup has thrown up several incidents that have reignited the debate around walking, an issue that gained prominence in the 2003 World Cup semi-final between Australia and Sri Lanka where Adam Gilchrist walked back to the pavilion after an appeal for a catch against him had met with no response from the umpire.

Ricky Ponting, the Australia captain, and Gilchrist's former team-mate, was in a similar situation against Pakistan on Saturday, where a caught-behind appeal against him had been turned down. Unlike Gilchrist, he stayed his ground. The decision was reviewed by Pakistan and he was adjudged out, but all along he knew he had nicked the ball.

"There were no doubts about the nick, I knew I hit it, but as always I wait for the umpire to give me out. That's the way I've always played the game," Ponting said.

The New Zealand-Sri Lanka game in Mumbai involved a controversial decision when what appeared to be clean, and a brilliantly taken, one-handed catch by Nathan McCullum off Mahela Jayawardene was ruled not out by the third umpire Amish Saheba as replays were possibly inconclusive. Jayawardene, once the catch was claimed, stayed his ground and ultimately got the decision in his favour.

"If I felt it was a clean catch, I would have walked," Jayawardene said. "It was a 50-50 thing and it was fair it went to the TV umpire."

However, "it depends upon the person," Ross Taylor, the New Zealand captain for that game, said. "You look at Jacques Kallis. He asks the fielders if they caught it cleanly and he trusts the words of the fielders. You put it up to the batsman to make the decision and at the end of the day you just hope the technology is right and if the technology is not right, well then don't use it."

In India's game against West Indies in Chennai, Sachin Tendulkar, a century away from completing 100 international tons, walked when he inside-edged Ravi Rampaul to the wicketkeeper as Steve Davis, the umpire, shook his head.

"It's nice to see people walking but that doesn't happen now I guess," Waqar Younis, the Pakistan coach, said. He added that despite the availability of technology, batsmen could still take a chance with the replays. "There is a system in place now so that you can't get away with it. I mean people still take chances and why not? Jayawardene took a chance and it went the other way."

I think personal nahi hona chahye ke chappal jealous hogea ya dar geya just bcoz ham ne Aussei ko hara diya.. he is a legend aur her legend current stars/players per comment karte hi hain.

Kal hi Basit ali ne Sachin ke bare mei kaha k he is not match winning player.. to kia basit ali dar geya ya tendulkar ke records se jealous hay ?

even waseem akram aur Imran khan ne kaha k jo 15 saal mei nahi seekh saka usper ab kia mehant karni ? ... to ye dono koi dushman hain ?

aur crazy ka word not in the sence ke wo mental ya pagal hai, crazy ka word i think usne is way mai use kia hay ke he don't know where and when to hit/play..
