Novak Djokovic's win over Belgium's Ruben Bemelmans earned Serbia a place in the Hopman Cup final.
Ana Ivanovic couldn't find a way past Justine Henin
Djokovic fired a warning to his rivals for the Australian Open by looking at the peak of his powers as he brushed aside Bemelmans.
The world No. 3's 6-3 6-2 win means that Serbia will meet Italy, France or the United States in Saturday's final.
Earlier in the day, Ana Ivanovic struggled to live with Justine Henin, who ran out a 6-4 6-3 winner. Henin has looked impaired by an elbow injury during the tournament, but there was no sign of any problem as she cruised past the former world No. 1.
Elsewhere, Australia's Lleyton Hewitt produced his best tennis of the tournament as he outwitted Kazakhstan's Andrey Golubev 6-3 6-3. Alicia Molik secured the tie for Australia when she trounced Sesil Karatantcheva 6-3 6-2.
