Third-seeded Jo-Wilfried Tsonga moved within sight of his first ATP final in 15 months when he outlasted seventh-seed Guillermo Garcia-Lopez of Spain 7-6 (4), 7-6 (9) in the Qatar Open quarterfinals on Thursday.

Tsonga, ranked 13th in the world, blew leads of 5-3 in the first set and 2-0 in the second before prevailing in just under two hours.
Tsonga called it "a very difficult match. I played exciting (tennis). It was a long time since I played a tough match like this."
Tsonga's last final or title was in Tokyo in October 2009. Last year, he missed three months and the summer hard-court circuit because of a left knee patella tear.
