New Wales boss Gary Speed, who took the job in December last year, is hoping to coax Giggs back into the fold - and it seems his advances may be greeted favourably.

Asked if he would be returning to Wales duty, Giggs told Sky Sports: "I don't know, I'm just concentrating on playing for United. I played with Gary, he was a great player and I'm sure he'll do a great job for Wales. In the future, if he ever needed any help, then that would be no problem. But at the moment I wish him all the best and hope he can get Wales winning."

In terms of his club career, Giggs has hinted that he is willing to extend his stay at Manchester United by another year. The 37-year-old proved he still had plenty to offer during his last outing, when he scored the winning goal in a 1-0 triumph over Liverpool.

"I'm always looking to get picked, enjoy it and be fit - and at the moment all those three things are happening, so I'll carry on playing," he said. "At the moment I'm enjoying it more than ever."
