There are times when you may want to turn off or mute sound on windows phone 7 when you are in public or just in case when you in a auditorium or classroom.

  1. Press the volume button and tap the Ring icon (a bell in a circle)
  2. The icon changes to Vibrate (3 wavy lines)+ to show that the phone is muted.
  3. Repeat the process to turn the ring on again
