Everton boss David Moyes has insisted he has fielded no approach from Tottenham for captain Phil Neville and does not expect any major activity on the final day of the transfer window.

Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is a confirmed admirer of Neville and reports over the weekend claimed he may make a deadline-day offer for the former Manchester United man. Moyes has made it clear he has no intention of letting his key players leave the club and he has confirmed he has not been contacted by Spurs.

Burnley midfielder Chris Eagles set tongues wagging when stating Everton were interested in his services, but Moyes gave no indication as to whether that was true and suggested there was likely to be little movement in or out of the club.

"I would be very surprised [if there was major activity at Everton]," Moyes said. "There is young boy from Greece [Apostolos Vellios] we are trying to bring in."

Moyes also confirmed the club had not made a move for Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips.
