Madhuri gets more viewership than Amitabh and SRK
Madhuri Dixit might be out of action for a while, but the diva has managed to beat stars like Big B and SRK in telly war. While Jhalak Dikhla Jaa recorded 5.6 per cent viewership on day one, Big B's Kaun Banega Crorepati and SRK's Zor Ka Jhatka could manage only 4 per cent and 2.6 per cent respectively. Officials at Sony Entertainment Television couldn't be happier as they paid Dixit a fraction of what it paid Bachchan and still managed higher viewership.
"We had been trying to get Madhuri as a judge for the past two seasons. She has been known as a dancing diva and who better could we have got for a show which is all about perfect dancing," Ajay Bhalwankar, programming head, Sony, told IANS.
"She has added a lot of freshness to the show and she is an extremely honest judge. In all our four seasons, this season has been the highest TRP earner thanks to Madhuri," he added.
