    Hai yun ke ibaarat ki zuban aur hai koi
    Kaghaz meri taqdeer ka saada bhi nahi hai


    Kyon dekhte rehte hain sitaroon ki taraf ham
    Jab un se mulaaqaat ka waada bhi nahi hai


    Kyon uski taraf dekh kar paon nahi uth.te
    Wo shakhs haseen itna ziaada bhi nahi hai


    Kis mor pe le aya hai hamain Hijr-r-musalsal
    Ta had.e.nigah wasl ka wada bhi nahi hai


    Pather ki tarha sard hai kyon aankh kisi ki
    "Amjad " jo bicharne ka irrada bhi nahi hai
