World No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki booked her place in the final of the Family Circle Cup by defeating Jelena Jankovic in straight sets.

23017 - Wozniacki sinks Jankovic to reach final

Wozniacki, who had never beaten Jankovic at the start of this year, sealed her second successive win against the Serb by triumphing 6-4 6-4 in one hour and 47 minutes. The victory means she has reached four finals from seven tournaments thus far in 2011, winning one.

Both players endured a torrid time on serve during the first set, with Wozniacki triumphing despite surrendering three breaks. Somehow, Jankovic managed to fair even worse than her opponent, winning just two points out of 11 contested on her second delivery, and holding serve once.

The second frame bore scant resemblance to what had gone before it, with both players battling hard to cling onto their serves - although there was still nothing particularly convincing in either player's delivery. Wozniacki claimed the crucial break in the tenth game, closing out the win with ruthless efficiency on the first match point she was offered.

"I thought I played pretty good tennis today," Wozniacki said. "I am sliding much better and there were some really tough rallies out there."

She moves on to play unseeded Elena Vesnina, who beat Shuai Peng 7-6(4) 6-3, in the final.

In the Andalucia Tennis Experience, top seed Victoria Azarenka continues to look unbeatable, advancing to Sunday's final with a 6-2 6-1 victory over Sara Errani. The top seed is yet to lose more than five games in a single match so far in the tournament, and she dropped just four points on first serve against her Italian opponent.

Azarenka will be joined in the Marbella final by Romanian wildcard Irina-Camelia Begu, who defeated Svetlana Kuznetsova 3-6 7-6(3) 6-4.
